13 volumes which tell about the events of the War of the Balance
The War of the Balance is an event that occurs after the events of the games in the series, which immediately precedes—or perhaps immediately follows—the reunification of Stark and Arcadia.
Very little has been revealed about the War of the Balance. It is known that it takes place during the reign of the 13th Guardian and that the resulting world is called New Earth. Saga, one of the few characters known to have witnessed and survived the War, and who helped Galath chronicle its events in the multi-volume tome The Complete History of the War of the Balance and the Reunification of Worlds, suggests that it takes place "a decade or so" after the end of the Azadi Civil War, which itself begins shortly after the events of Dreamfall Chapters. Crow, another survivor, indicates during a conversation with Lady Alvane that the War is led by a "beautiful warrior princess" which, given her modesty in response to Crow's characterisation as such, is implied to be Lady Alvane herself.
Speculation[]
- It may be of some significance that several of the magical peoples' prophecies regarding April involve her restoring the Balance (presumably the events of TLJ) only to destroy it at a later date.
- April Ryan's battle against the Azadi in Dreamfall may also be seen as part of a war to maintain Balance in Arcadia.
