The area immediately north of Marcuria in Ayrede is farmland, reached by crossing a small bridge over a stream. Here barns are raised and Sikhatis graze. The forest of Riverwood is to the northeast and the Border Mountains to the far north. Farmers are protected from the wilderness by two gargantuan statues of human scouts blowing their horns.
In concept art of the farmlands the road north was through a tunnel in the mountain range.
The scouts were no doubt inspired by the Argonath from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings.
